Preparing for Santa coming

I am the "Santa" at the Walmart where I work. I have been playing Santa for the last 3 years for Walmart. It for me is also a continuation of a family tradition, my dad was Santa for many years for church, civic organizations and personal visits of his choice. My mom even got into the act as Mrs. Claus. As I continue the tradition and having had over 3,000 pictures taken with children of all ages. I would like to suggest parents never force there little ones to see Santa. Walk around near Santa let your tike get familiar with what they see happening. Talk to them. You can always hold you child and stand next to Santa for a picture and try again later or next year. Many times a child who was not willing or afraid to see Santa will later in your shopping trip or your next visit change their minds. Plus remember it is better to wait until next year than to instill a greater fear, traumatize or stress you child just for a picture you are not going to be happy with anyway. Also, Walmart is one of only places I know of who gives a free 5"x7" picture with the help of sponsors. I hope everyone has a healthy and happy holiday season.

I remember your dad playing "Santa". He was the best ever!!! And your mom was the best ever Mrs. Claus. Together they were the most generous, real, loving people I've ever met, and some of my strongest childhood memories surround them. I can't overstate the impact they had on my life, and I often tell people about them. Good for you that you're carrying on their tradition. I'm happy to hear that. If the world was made up altogether of people like them, this earth would be heaven. They put the Christ in Christmas and the Saint in Santa.
